Titus fish is a popular type of mackerel fish commonly used in Nigerian cooking. It is known for its rich taste, soft texture when cooked, and high nutritional value. Titus fish is a good source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and essential vitamins. It can be fried, boiled, or added to soups and stews.

 

 

  1. Wash the Titus fish thoroughly with clean water and salt to remove slime and dirt.
  2. Add seasoning, salt, and spices of your choice to the fish.
  3. Allow the fish to marinate for about 10–20 minutes.
  4. Place a frying pan on medium heat and add oil.
  5. Fry the fish gently until it turns golden brown on both sides.
  6. Remove from heat and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with rice, yam, or stew.

 

 

👉 Do not over-fry Titus fish to keep it soft and tasty.
